Climb Island peak

Itinerary for a Guided Island Peak Climb.

Day 1. Arrival at Kathmandu and accommodation at hotel.
Day 2. Obtaining permits for ascent. Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 3. Kathmandu­–Lukla flight (to an elevation of 2800m). A two hours’ trek to the village of Phakding (at 2650m). Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 4. A four hours’ climb to Namche Bazaar (at 3444m), with overnight stay at lodge.
Day 5. Day spent in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, with overnight stay at lodge.
Day 6. A four hours’ climb from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery (at 3860m). Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 7. A five hours’ climb from Tengboche to the village of Periche (at 4240m). The trail is passing over several picturesque bridges. Trees gradually turn into shrub. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 8. Climb to Mt. Lobuche (at 4710m).
Day 9. Summiting Kala Patthar (5600m). Descent to Gorak Shep (4910m) and having a rest.
Day 10. Trek from Gorak Shep to the Everest Base Camp. The hike to and from it takes about 6 to 7 hours. Overnight stay in Gorak Shep.
Day 11. Descent to Dingboche and further, to Chukhung. Overnight stay at lodge.
Day 12. A 3–4 hours’ climb from Chukhung to Base Camp of Island Peak. Putting up of tents and overnight stay there.
Day 13. Climbing Island Peak summit (6130m). Ascent takes about 6–7 hours and descent to Base Camp – about 3 to 4 hours. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 14. Reserved in case of bad weather. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 15. Descent to Tengboche. Overnight stay in lodge.
Day 16. Descent to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay in lodge.
Day 17. Descent to Lukla. Overnight stay in lodge.
Day 18. Lukla­–Kathmandu flight. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 19. Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight back home.
