The trek around Annapurna, Annapurna Ring with a visit to Tilicho Lake is one of the most popular and beautiful treks in Nepal. This trek provides a unique combination of stunning mountain scenery, including some of the highest mountains in the world, and a deep dive into the local culture and lifestyle. Historically, the Annapurna Ring trek started in the town of Besisahar, but road construction has shortened it considerably, with the active part now taking 10-11 days instead of 17-20. The Annapurna Ring trek goes around the Annapurna massif (includes 4 peaks ranging from 7500m to 8091m), passing through a variety of ecosystems from jungle and fertile rice terraces to the rugged highlands. The trek around Annapurna passes through many localities where you can see different cultures including Gurkhas, Tibetans, Manangs and other ethnic groups. The highest point of the trek is the Thorong La Pass (5416 metres), which offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Lake Tilicho is one of the highest lakes in the world, located at 4,920 metres above sea level. It is an additional deviation from the main route of the Annapurna Ring trek, but despite its challenges (especially related to altitude), this visit is well worth the effort. Overall, the Ring of Annapurna trek with Tilicho Lake is a wonderful adventure for those looking for both physical challenge and cultural immersion in Nepal.
