Following the long rains when the initial flush of grass turns Masaai Mara’s into a superb savanna green wilderness, the most fascinating wildlife spectacle in the world takes place. The Great Masaai Mara Wildebeest Migration is a Natural phenomenon that occurs year after year between the months of July and August. The numbers are unbelievable with up to two million animals – wildebeest as well as zebra and gazelles gathering on the plains in search of new grazing lands, water and a place to bring fort their young ones.
Here you will witness the enthralling survival for the fittest the battle to survive as the animals face the real danger of the largest crocodiles anywhere in the world patiently lying in wait for their real meal in months.Indeed, it is the survival for the fittest as only the swiftest, agile and strong make it to the other side of the river alive. The danger is not confined to the river but also on the other side of the Mara River as expert hunting machines including Lions, Hyenas and Cheetahs lie in wait, ready to stalk and take down the weakest members of the herds for an easy feast.
